Planning and productivity tip: I divide my working day into quarters. The first focuses on nailing all of the administrative tasks (invoices, accountants, emails, etc) so I know whatever else happens in the day, at least my business won't go backwards.
The second, third and fourth quarters are for going out to play: for business development; networking; sales and marketing. THESE quarters are for the business of customer acquisition.
Spending most or even all of your day on 'admin' WILL lead you to eventually start resenting your business. Conversely, ensuring you get a good daily dose of innovation, creativity and new prospects means you stay stimulated, always thinking and growing.
That's when you really go to work!
